Gundam has been around for decades.  In Japan, they have cartoons about it that are followed as closely as soap operas are here.  They call them anime.  A Gundam is a giant robot that is piloted by a person.  They have made books, cartoon movies, television shows all about Gundam and the characters in it.  They have had many story lines about Gundam.
